Updating tc35i firmware
However my knowledge to serial port interfacing to ATMEGA16 is restricted to TX and RX lines i think im missing something critical as no matter what i do I cannot get the darned thing to speak to the ATMEGA16.
Now somewhere else on the forum this same problem had been reported but i cant seem to figure out what are the connections to get it to work .
Docking stations are quite a pleasant thing, because they save you having to plug in and out a lot of different cables (network, USB, monitors, power,…).
Meanwhile, docking solutions via USB-C/Thunderbolt are also available.
If you search for “15 G3” on https://com/, you will find the latest firmware update for the dock. Now there are 4 possibilities: Shortly before: Yes, [I think] it worked!
In preparation, you should get a SIM card that is able to send SMS (sufficient credit, known PIN,…).
Things like Thunderbolt should actually work out-of-the-box, because these are general standards.
That’s why I bought an HP Elite Thunderbolt Dock with my Lenovo X1 Carbon, because Lenovo didn’t have its own Thunderbolt Dock at that time.
Since the modem is addressed via serial interface, it should be available on the computer (or can be retrofitted via USB adapter).
Linux offers a program called smstools, which is supposed to take over the function of an SMS gateway.
By the way, it makes sense to set up a small firewall via iptables, who is allowed to send and who isn’t, otherwise anyone who somehow gets to the computer can access it.
